Tenek release their second
album On The Wire (album available on Monday 6th September on CD & mp3).
Following in the trail of last years critically acclaimed début album
Stateless... On The Wire sees the return of a more worldly-wise tenek. The songs
and sound have stepped up a notch as they continue to mature and experiment
with new themes and influences.. They have all the elements that you would expect
from them. Solid electro grooves with nods to the past, present and future and
a hooks that are simply relentless. A lot has happened for the band in the last
eighteen months and it shows! Having toured extensively throughout the UK, mainland
Europe and Russia with artists such as Mesh, John Foxx, Gary Numan, The Human
League, De/Vision, A Flock Of Seagulls, Iris and Assemblage 23, tenek have grown
in confidence and channelled their experiences back into their music.
Credible and satisfying, "On The Wire" has turned up the power and
emotion with new songs that are deeply engaging and uplifting. A strong, confident
second album of pounding electronic rhythms, driving guitars and simple but
powerfully affecting choruses that will be running around inside your head for
days.

tenek are all about hard grinding electro grooves, a power house of classic
British synthesiser pop and stabs of driving guitar. They craft these sounds
with insanely infectious song writing and strong confident vocals to produce
a unique crossover which is credible and satisfying to both the cult electro
scene and yet retaining a mass market appeal through the immediacy of their
melodies and hooks. Dark and introspective yet rewardingly uplifting and anthemic,
this music is for the masses and for the underground and this is why tenek are
vital!
tenek have a long musical history behind them and wear their influences proudly
as medals of honour. Geoff and Pete are accomplished musicians at the top of
their game who have forged their own unique sound which is gloriously electronic,
contagious and most importantly leaves the listener feeling that they are part
of something. tenek take you with them in their acknowledgment of the past,
present and future!
